Round-Up of the 7 Best IKEA Hacks

August 17, 2016

For some bizarre reason, I love walking through IKEA – they literally have everything you could ever need and more!  Also, who would have known that a ton of their items have a thousand uses?!  I bet that if you walked through IKEA and couldn’t find that specific thing you were looking for, you probably could’ve made it by using something that they did have.  For example, if you were looking for a nifty little wine table, then you could’ve bought some Frosta stools to get the job done.  Yes, you heard me right, I said stools.  Who on earth would have guessed that stools could make a wine table?!  So, enough of my babbling, here are 7 awesome IKEA hacks you can DIY:

  1. Raskog Cart  I think there’s about a million ways you can use this cart in every room of your home.  From a 3-tiered garden, to a rolling bathroom caddy, to a portable bar – talk about multi-functional!
  2. Frosta Stools  This one is perfect for all you wine lovers out there!  All you need is two wooden stools and some tools – simple as that!  Much like the Raskog cart, these stools are super multi-functional.  They can be deconstructed and reconstructed to make so many different, useful items – just check out Pinterest!
  3. Knuff Magazine Files  Turn these plywood magazine files into a super useful mail center, or even bed-side tables.  They also make a really awesome, cheap alternative to shelving – the options are endless for these low-key wooden magazine holders!
  4. Billy Bookshelves  I love this breakfast bar with added kitchen storage – such a great idea!  Not only does it provide more storage space, but it also provides a little extra seating – I’d say that’s a win!  AND it has a butcher block countertop, which means you could even use it as a prep area for cooking!
  5. Stolmen Bike Rack  This is so perfect for an apartment – either indoors or on the patio!  Vertically storing your bikes is a real space saver, and, with this minimalist and industrial look, it will seem as if it’s built into the apartment.  Plus, it’s not that ugly!
  6. Ingo Table  This farmhouse style table is absolutely gorgeous!  To think that such a boring and dull little table can be turned into something so beautiful is just amazing!  This DIY project definitely isn’t for the faint of heart though – it’s a little challenging and you may need a couple extra helping hands!
  7. Bekvam Kitchen Cart  Who ever would’ve thought that a little kitchen butcher block island could be turned into a vanity?!  My dad actually made one similar to this and put it in the downstairs bathroom.  He came up with the idea with no help from the internet – damn engineers!
