An Apartment State Of Mind

Happy Cinco de Mayo! We love this holiday, not only because it celebrates the awesome Mexican victory, but it’s also another excuse to stuff myself with an infinite amount of chips and salsa, tacos, burritos, churros, guacamole, and beer, without judgment. While this is a traditional holiday, here are a few ways to kick it up a notch and go for some non-traditional recipes. Living life on the edge, know what I mean?
Guacamole: Get jazzy and add some grilled peach, jalapeños and bacon. Sweet, spicy, salty—it’s the ultimate tryst.
Tacos: A little tradition mixed with a little non-tradition. These pork tacos with pineapple salsa will most likely make you want to bow down to the taco gods.
Salsa: Skip the tango and do the salsa with watermelon, jalapeños, and bell peppers.
Chips: Forget store bought, it’s so boring. Stand out and make your own tortilla chips. Also, healthy brownie points!
Beer: Of course, the thing we love most. There are plenty to choose from, and most of these will most likely get you to your happy place.
Mocktails: Stay refreshed without the alchy. Bomb dot com.
Or you could just go traditional and eat classic everything. Either way, there will be food so it’s honestly a win-win situation. Have an awesome (and safe!) drinko, er, Cinco de Mayo, friends.
