Veterans Day Discounts Around the Country

This Veterans Day (November 11, 2014), we are all reminded to take a moment to appreciate those who have dedicated themselves to our country’s freedom and safety by serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. This year, a number of restaurants and businesses are offering discounts on their goods and services to Veterans. Please keep in mind that you will most likely need proof of military service in order to obtain the discount.

Restaurants

Applebee’s: Free meal from Veterans Day menu for all Veteran and active duty military. (November 11, 2014)

Bob Evans: Free all-you-can-eat hotcakes to veterans and active duty military members who present a valid ID on November 11, 2014.

Claim Jumper: Free entree from a special menu on November 10, 2014.

McCormick & Schmick Seafood Restaurants: Free meal from a special menu on Sunday, November 9, 2014

On the Border: Free meal on Tuesday, November 11 from the “Create Your Own Combo Menu” at participating locations.

Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin’ Onion and a beverage, plus military mates receive 15% off from November 12-December 31, 2014.

Pinnacle Entertainment: Complimentary meals at the company’s various buffets on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.

Sizzler: Free lunch on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from a special menu.

Travel and Recreation:

Busch Gardens: 50% off for all single-day tickets for Veterans. Tickets must be purchased in advance at http://wavesofhonor.com

Knott’s Berry Farm: Free admission along with up to 6 additional tickets priced at $24 each from November 2 through November 21, and for $29 each from November 22 through January 4.

National Parks: All visitors to all national parks will get free entry. There will also be a variety of programs and events honoring veterans across the country.

SeaWorld: 50% off single day admission for qualified service members and veterans. Must verify your military status using the Troop ID button here.

Retail:

Great Clips: Free haircuts for veterans and military members on November 11, 2014.

Home Depot: 10% discount in all stores on Veterans Day.

Lowe’s: 10% discount in all stores on Veterans Day.

Sleep Number: Special discounts on mattresses only for our country’s heroes.

Sports Clips: A portion of each haircut goes to the VFW’s “Sports Clips Help a Hero Scholarship” program. They are also accepting donations nationwide through Veterans Day, November 11.
