The Ultimate Guide to Glamping

October 5, 2016

If you’re one of those people that loves nature but isn’t too fond of pitching a tent and cooking over a campfire, I totally understand!  That’s what glamping is here for!  You get to experience the ruggedness and beauty of nature without having to rough it in a tent and cook canned baked beans over a fire – best of both worlds!  There’s typically two types of glamping – you can either do it on your own or go to a “resort”.  If you’re going to glamp on your own, there are some really great gadgets out there for you to make the most out of your glamping trip!  You can also choose to go to a “resort”.  These are facilities that have “tents” already put up, typically have a bunch of activities for you to participate in, and usually provide meals – now that sounds pretty fantastic if you ask me!

Awesome gadgets and necessities:

  • Portable kitchen.  Cooking over a campfire is unnecessary when there’s this nifty kitchen to do the job!
  • Cabin tent.  A definite glamping necessity – away with the small 2-person tents!
  • Projector and screen.  May as well go all out and bring a projector and a screen to watch your favorite movies.
  • Coffee maker.  Brew a steaming cup of coffee to start the day – now this is essential!
  • Luxury air mattress.  Take sleeping to a whole new level.  This is the definition of ultimate camping comfort!
  • Also, don’t forget the camper van or RV!

Best glamping destinations:

  • Yellowstone, MT.  With a variety of glamping options, and some great activities like flyfishing, rafting, and kayaking, this place is a must-visit.
  • Sequoia National Park, CA.  This is for the more outdoorsy folks as it’s a hike-in glamping resort, meaning you have to park your car and hike 1 mile in order to access it.  Just look at that view – it’s so worth it!

Sequoia National Park

  • Upstate New York, NY.  There’s no better way to experience the beauty of upstate New York than to be fully immersed in it!  Good, well-behaved dogs are even welcome here – bonus!
  • Philipsburg, MT.  Their huge gorgeous canvas cabins are located near a creek – so beautiful!  They also have a ropes course, hiking, fishing, and horseback riding.  Can’t you just see yourself in one of those spacious, gorgeous cabins?!
