An Apartment State Of Mind
December 18, 2019
While the holidays are usually a fun time for gathering with friends and family, there’s always the logistics of bringing everyone together. And if you have people visiting, you may feel a little stressed getting everything prepped for not only the holidays and end of the year, but also your guests.
Here are some tips on how to accommodate guests so they feel welcome in your apartment home and so that you feel prepared for their visit!
Sleeping Arrangements – When you live in an apartment, it’s best to figure out sleeping arrangements prior to your guests stepping foot in your home. With limited space, you’ll want to make sure you can accommodate their sleeping needs so they know beforehand. So whether that means sleeping on the couch or in a guest room, have clean sheets, pillows and blankets prepared for their stay. Do this way ahead of time to relieve your stress and make sure their stay is more comfortable.
Logistics – If your guests will be staying with you and need access to a car, let them know if you’ll be driving them around or if they need to get a rental. Planning ahead of time is always key to making everything run more smoothly.
A Clean Home – Even though it’s likely your guests are family and you feel like things don’t have to be perfect, no one, family or not, likes to walk into where they’re staying and see that it’s dirty. If you’re busy with last minute work before the holidays, hire a house cleaner to make sure everything is tidy by the time your guests arrive.
It’s The Little Things – Making your guests feel welcome means things are ready for them by the time they get to your home. After a long day of travel, don’t make your guests have to ask you for everything. Have clean towels ready for them in the bathroom along with stocked soap, toilet paper, etc. Having little things prepared will go a long way with making them feel comfortable in your home.
The Final Touches – Think of your home like an Airbnb or nice hotel. A simple thing like flowers in the room or chocolates near their bed will brighten up their day and put everyone in a great mood for the holidays.
