Make the Holidays Special with these 9 Healthy Holiday Cookies

December 21, 2016

Indulging in mounds of cookies is half the fun of the holidays!  Fun to make and so tasty, the only downside is what they are capable of doing to your waistline if you eat too many, which I’m not afraid to admit happens far too often!  Good news: there is actually such a thing as healthy holiday cookies – and I’m here to share 9 of my favorite recipes for healthy holiday baking.

  1. Chocolate chip banana bread zucchini oatmeal cookies  For those of you that love zucchini bread, banana bread, AND chocolate chip cookies, this is a must-try!
  2. Gingerbread men cookies  Definitely the epitome of winter time – gingerbread!  I can’t think of anything much better than cozying up by the fireplace with a hot cup of tea and gingerbread cookies.
  3. Gluten-free chocolate lace cookies  Lace cookies are just divine!  These cookies are great for you gluten-free folks and they taste delicious.
  4. Almond flour coconut sugar cookies  We all know sugar cookies aren’t the best for you but they’re oh-so-yummy and irresistible!  But… this healthy sugar cookie alternative uses almond flour, coconut oil, and coconut sugar – no guilty feasting here!
  5. Pumpkin pie chocolate chip oatmeal cookies  Mmm, pumpkin pie plus chocolate chips?!  Yes, please!  Definitely making these tonight while binge-watching Friends on Netflix – no shame, right?
  6. Shortbread cookies  If there’s a more sugary, buttery, delicious cookie than shortbread, please let me know!  Shortbread cookies are the absolute best, but eating 6 of them at once comes at quite a cost to your calorie and fat intake for the day.  That’s why these healthy alternatives are perfect!
  7. Ginger pecan oatmeal crisps  Not only does ginger have great health benefits, but it also tastes really good, especially in cookies!
  8. Skinny oatmeal chocolate chip cookies  Looking for a semi-classic chocolate chip recipe?  This one is perfect!  Unless you don’t like oatmeal, but you can barely taste the oatmeal anyway.
  9. Molasses crackle cookies  Some may say molasses is an acquired taste, but if you like brown sugar then you’ll like these cookies – brown sugar just tastes like sugary molasses in my opinion!
