Grab a Bite and a Drink in the Heart of Dallas

With a handful of properties in Dallas, we decided that we wanted to highlight some of the best places to grab a bite (or a sip!) in the heart of this incredible city!  The hot spots for dining and drinking in Dallas are pretty much endless – this city has so much to offer!  Whether it’s finding the best barbecue in town or taking a stroll through the Dallas Farmers’ Market, we assure you that you will not go home hungry or thirsty.

• Pecan Lodge is the go-to for the best Barbecue.  Their menu may seem small but it is nothing short of delicious!  They also offer catering and holiday orders – how awesome!  But, be sure to get there early because the line can get pretty long.  Pecan Lodge is located near downtown – in Deep Ellum – and is just an 8 minute drive from one of our brand new apartment communities, 555 Ross Avenue Apartments.
• The Dallas Farmers Market located in downtown Dallas has everything you could ever be looking for at a farmer’s market, plus it’s open every day from 10AM-6PM!  Head on over to pick up some fresh produce, delicious coffee, fragrant spices, and thoughtful gifts.  It is truly fun for the whole family!  It’s a short 8-minute drive or a lovely 30-minute stroll from 555 Ross Avenue Apartments.
• Named one of the best beer gardens in the U.S., the Truck Yard needs to get on your bucket list ASAP.  They are located between Old East Dallas and Lower Greenville.  They are open everyday from 11AM-9PM with varying food trucks.  They also have live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Plus, you can bring your dog along with you to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells!  Just a 15 minute drive from two of our communities: Rienzi at Turtle Creek Apartments and Cantabria at Turtle Creek Apartments – this place is worth the drive!
• Head over to Bread Winners Cafe for a mouth watering brunch.  They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well but their brunch and bakery is to die for!  Bread Winners Cafe is located near Bluffview and is only a 7 min drive from our Atera Apartments and there is also one in Uptown located near 555 Ross,  Rienzi at Turtle Creek, Cantabria at Turtle Creek, and Vibe Medical District Apartments.
• Top-of-the-line steak is just around the corner from 555 Ross – seriously just a 1 minute walk!  The Palm offers some of the best steak you can find in Dallas’ West End and is the perfect way to celebrate a special day.  You can reserve your table online and they even offer private dining!  You will sure not leave this place hungry – we can promise you that!
• Dos Jefes is the place to be for delicious tapas and handcrafted cocktails.  This high-energy social lounge in Uptown has happy hour from 5-7PM and also offers weekend brunch!  You can even book a table online if you have a party of 8 or more – so convenient.  What’s even more convenient is that it’s only a 10 minute walk from both Rienzi at Turtle Creek Apartments and Cantabria at Turtle Creek Apartments!
• Looking for a place to grab a cold brew, good eats, and be able to chill outdoors?  The LOT is the perfect place for just that!  They have an endless menu of amazing food and drinks.  Bring your dogs and kids along as well – there’s a giant sandpit playground!  The LOT is located near the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens (which we also recommend visiting) so it is a bit of a drive but you won’t regret it!
• Ellen’s Southern Kitchen is the place to go if you’re looking for some traditional southern comfort food.  With an incredible menu, amazing staff, and comforting atmosphere what more could you ever want?!  Ellen’s is located in Dallas’ West End and is only a 1 minute walk from 555 Ross Avenue Apartments – how perfect!
• Now this place is way north of the heart of Dallas, but we thought it was worth mentioning because it is just that awesome!  Want to grab an incredible cup of coffee?  Head over to the Coffee House Cafe to find the most delicious cup of coffee.  They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they also have a hefty wine list – you can even order alcoholic coffee!  As if that all wasn’t enough, they have happy hour from 2:30-6:30PM and all day on Sunday, plus they have a drive-thru!  You can’t beat the Coffee House Cafe!
