Dollar Store Decor Hacks and Steals

October 11, 2016

When it comes to staying on a budget, we love anything that has to do with a trip to the dollar store or thrift store!  The things you come across can be so useful!  If you’re able to think outside the box a little then the possibilities can be endless.  For example, using a Popsicle mold to organize crayons!  The dollar store offers an abundance of DIY opportunities – from decor to organization hacks!  We found some of the greatest dollar store hacks and steals to help you decorate and organize on a budget.  Happy DIY-ing!

  • Rubber Door Mat Wall Art.  This frugal, yet gorgeous, decor idea is a great art piece for your foyer, or you could even hang this outside!

  • Pool Noodle Garland.  Want a cheap, easy, and cute decoration idea for your next outdoor get-together?  These pool noodle garlands will do just the trick!
  • Mirrored Planter Boxes.  These would look super cute as a center piece on the dining room table or on a window sill.  They’re classy, elegant, and oh-so-easy to make!

  • Front Door Wreath.  Wreathes are a really great way to spruce up your front door without much effort.  This wreath was made using Hobby Lobby items but I guarantee that you’ll be able to find all the same stuff at your local dollar store!
  • Plastic Animal Bookends.  These are by far the most adorable bookends you’ll ever find!  4 pieces of wood, 2 plastic animal toys, some glue and paint, and voila, bookends!

  • Picture Frame Key Hanger.  I’ve actually made this one for my apartment and I absolutely love it!  It’s a great and attractive way to keep all your keys in one place – kill two birds with one stone!
  • Lunchbox Ice Packs.  For all you parents out there, this is a super cheap alternative to store-bought ice packs.  Just run over to the dollar store, grab a pack or two of dish sponges, put them in Ziploc baggies, add water, and freeze.  Simple as that!
