An Apartment State Of Mind

How to: Ball on a Budget

April 25, 2015

Ball so hard on a budget, ja feel me? Decorating your apartment on a college kid’s budget is totally do-able. It just means getting a little more creative with some not so typical decorations.

Take pictures and turn it into a cool collage. Not only will you be able to reminisce on the daily, but it’ll be a cute reminder of how awesome your memories are. Also, another reason to take even more selfies.
Cost: depends on how many pictures you print.

Wine down with wine bottles. You can turn these babies into flower vases, jewelry holders (use the bottle neck for bracelets), or fancy shmancy olive oil dispensers. The cool thing is that everyone will know how classy you are. Ooh-la-la.
Cost: free, given you’ve already bought and drunk the wine. Otherwise, $5 for cheap wine.

Christmas lights warm up any room with its’ soft, golden glow (unless you get the multicolored ones). Dangle them around your bedroom, behind sheer curtains, or even spell a word out with rope lights. Feel the cozy Christmas cheer year round.
Cost: $10-$20

Your bed is a huge part of your bedroom, so it can capture a lot of attention. Choose stylish bedding designs to let everyone know how mature you are.
Cost: varies on how fancy you wanna get.

Go green and recycle old magazines into decorations. Create wall quotations out of them or grow your own magazine flower bouquet. Wau, so hipster.
Cost: free—if you don’t have old magazines, you can also do these with newspapers.
If you’re living above college kid budget, power to ya. You can probably step your decorating game up a bit.

The best advice? Keep it simple. Less is more. Being basic never looked so good.

Good luck, and tell us how you’re ballin’ on a budget @FFResidential!
