An Apartment State Of Mind

With severe droughts around the country and around the world, fresh water is one of our most-precious resources. It’s easy to reduce water waste, so we’re sharing 5 simple water-saving tips that everyone can do at home!
Check your sinks, showers, and toilets for leaks.
If anything’s leaking, fix it right away! If you live in a Fairfield community, simply let your Maintenance Technician know.
Take shorter showers.
The average American shower uses 17.2 gallons and lasts for a little over 8 minutes. Try shaving off a couple of minutes from your shower routine – it can save more than 2 gallons per minute!
Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth.
The American Dental Association recommends brushing for two minutes, twice per day. But does the water need to be running that whole time? We think not.
Only run full loads in a washing machine or dishwasher.
These water-using machines are a common source of wasted water. By waiting until you have a full load, you’ll get more clean clothes or dishes for the same use of water.
Fix leaky sprinklers.
Report leaky sprinkler heads and standing water puddles if you see them around your community. If you’re a homeowner, be sure to repair leaks promptly.
