An Apartment State Of Mind

Happy first day of Fall! To many of you, the passing of Labor Day signified the end of summer, with back to school coming shortly after your last BBQ bash, the start of the football season and summer vacations coming to a close. But in reality, it was summer up until the autumn equinox, which is today. On this date, day and night are each about the same length…hence, why it’s called an equinox (Latin for “equal night”).
We, for one, are so excited to welcome fall to San Diego. Although we don’t get the extreme four seasons that most of our country gets, fall ushers in a slight chill in the evening air and the leaves start to change color. It also means it’s apple picking season in Julian, a small town in our local mountains famous for apple pie!
Sound delicious but too much of a trek? We love Cook Like a Dad’s blog post about Julian, including a recipe for the famous pie! Give it a try and let us know what you think! Are you a local? Tell us which Julian pie is your favorite in the comments below!
Fairfield is proud to have communities located all around the country, and we would love to hear your favorite things about fall where you live. What are you most looking forward to this season?
