An Apartment State Of Mind
August 14, 2018
Is there any better month for beach trips than August? We don’t think so. While June and even early July can have cloudy days on some parts of the coast, August is pretty much a sure bet for sunshine day in and out. Which means it’s the perfect time to go to the beach. It also means everyone else will be going, too! Yep, beaches are sure to busy in August. So what does that mean to you? Be prepared.
Here’s how you do it.
Be Prepared
You don’t want to drive all the way to the beach only to realize you’ve forgotten something. That’s the worst! The best way to get around this is to keep all of your beach stuff together even when you get back home. That way it’s pretty much organized and ready to go on a whim.
Do you usually put all of your beach stuff away once you get home? For instance, sunscreen goes back in the bathroom, umbrella goes in the garage or closet, beer koozie goes back in the kitchen, etc. Nope!
If you’re an avid beachgoer, this is how you do it. Buy two of everything that you use on a regular basis. If you use the same sunscreen daily that you use for the beach, buy one to keep in the bathroom and one to keep in your beach bag. This will not only save you time, but also the headache of having to trek back home or to the store to pick up what you forgot.
The only thing this wouldn’t pertain to is food related items and towels that need to be washed. Best practice is to wash everything right away and put it back with all of your other beach stuff once it’s clean. Make a section in your closet or garage to keep your bag, umbrellas, chairs, etc. so you know exactly where to find everything. This allows you to get out the door early and beat the crowds!
The Essentials
Not all of these are required to have an awesome time at the beach. But if you’re planning on going all day, some of them can be lifesavers!
Extra tip? Pack the night before so you can leave first thing in the morning. In August, the sun will already be blazing early and that means the crowds form early too. Be prepared so you can find the best spot on the beach!
