An Apartment State Of Mind
October 21, 2018
‘Tis the season to scare yourself on purpose! Yup, some of us love to get comfy for some classic scary movies during the month of October leading up to Halloween. Call us crazy, but what’s more fun than snuggling with your loved ones while watching creepy movies? Thankfully, if you’re on the same page, Netflix currently has some classic and new scary movies that will definitely make you want to leave the lights on at night!
The Shining – Sometimes you just can’t beat a classic and this is one of them. The creep factor in 1980’s The Shining is off the meter. Besides the classic scenes with Jack Nicholson (“Here’s Johnny!”), there’s the hotel itself which alone will give you nightmares.
Creep – At first watch, you might be scratching your head as to whether this is a comedy, horror film or both. While there are some awkwardly funny moments throughout the film with both lead actors Mark Duplass and Patrick Kack-Brice, this is one that will definitely keep you on your toes and thoroughly entertained the whole way through.
The Invitation – Get lost in the Hollywood Hills dinner party scene with The Invitation. Sure, a fun night with friends, drinks and gorgeous night views of LA may sound great, but ultimately it leads to something sinister and the ending will leave you a bit stunned.
Hush – The protagonist of this film is a deaf woman living at home alone in the woods being stalked by a masked intruder. This is one film that will keep you on your toes throughout and you might be surprised at the outcome.
Gerald’s Game – Based on a 1992 novel by Stephen King, this film is super creepy in so many different ways, it’s hard to believe that somehow everything is tied together at the end. But it is and some scenes you will not be able to get out of your head. If you enjoy a gruesome mystery matched with the clever storytelling of Stephen King, you’ll definitely want to check this one out.
