An Apartment State Of Mind

If you’re on a budget, a weekly date night can feel like a pricey monthly expense. And while you may love to go out for an nice weekly dinner, sometimes you may need to stay in for financial reasons. Or you may choose to do so because you’ve had a long day at work and just feel like staying in. But an at home date night doesn’t have to feel like every other night. There are options to make it more special than the usual Netflix evening. Let’s check out some ideas that are easy on the pocket book or just plain fun to do at home.
Pasta Night – It’s safe to say that almost everyone loves to eat pasta. Luckily it’s one of the easiest dishes to make and get creative with. So make it a night to indulge without spending your hard earned cash at a restaurant.
Go Vintage-esque and Listen to Podcasts Together – Usually you may listen to a podcast while driving or taking a walk or while you work depending on what you do. It may seem strange to listen to podcasts at home with another person. But how many times have you listened to one and knew your partner would love it too? Why not make it a podcast night instead of a Netflix night? Get takeout and some wine, and pretend it’s the pre-TV era!
Picnic at Home – You technically don’t need to be in a park to enjoy a picnic. Skip dinner and get all the fixings for an at-home picnic in your living room. Complete with music and wine…
Wine Tasting – Speaking of wine, you can easily do your own wine tasting at home with budget friendly bottles. BevMo and Trader Joe’s are two great options to find wine for your budget. You can easily find a bottle under $10 and you might be surprised at how tasty some of the more reasonably priced wines are.
Popcorn & Netflix Night – Sometimes all you want to do for date night is just relax on the couch with your babe and stream some TV. Make it a little more special by adding some tasty popcorn into the mix to feel like it’s a true movie night.
Painting Night – You don’t have to have an artistic flair to enjoy painting. And sometimes it’s super fun to put on music and just enjoy painting together with no expectations. This is definitely a rewarding activity for those couples looking to do something different on date night.
Game Night – If you and your partner are a fan of board games, this is a no brainer. Have some friendly competition between the two of you and don’t forget to have fun!
