DIY Popsicles for Sunny Summer Days

July 8, 2016

Flashback to your days as a little kid: sitting in the back yard with the sun beating down on you while trying to finish an icy-cold Popsicle before it starts dripping down your hands and arms.  As we know all too well – that was rarely a successful endeavor!  Well, lucky for you, we’re about to take you back to those care-free Popsicle days – hopefully minus the sticky arms and legs.  The following 9 Popsicle recipes are absolutely to DIY for (see what I did there? Clever, right?!)!

  • Strawberries and cream always seem to go together like bread and butter.  Which is why you can’t go wrong with a Strawberry Cream Popsicle.
  • A tropical getaway is the epitome of summer.  But, if you’re anything like me, you don’t have the time or the money to be able to go on a nice vacation to the Bahamas whenever you please.  Queue, Coconut Popsicles!  I know. It’s not even close to the same as a visit to the Bahamas, but hey, they’re pretty darn yummy anyway!
  • These Rainbow Popsicles have seven layers of fruity goodness.  I repeat, SEVEN!  That’s a whole lot of deliciousness packed into one Popsicle.
  • If you love mint chocolate chip ice cream as much as I do, then these Mint Chocolate Chip Greek Yogurt Pops are an absolute must-try.  Seriously, one of the best Popsicle recipes I’ve ever come across!
  • What’s summer without fresh berries, lemonade and chilly Popsicles?  These Berry Lemonade Pops are the ultimate summer Popsicle!
  • Who knew that edible Sangria was a thing?  I sure didn’t!  These Sangria Popsicles would be so perfect for a summer BBQ get-together (make sure the little kiddos don’t get a hold of them!).
  • If a mixture of citrus and mangoes doesn’t scream summer, then I don’t know what does.  Try these Mango Lime Pops that are surely a refreshing way to cool you down on a hot summer’s day.
  • What’s better than fresh peaches on a hot day?  Peaches and Cream Popsicles, that’s what!  These frozen, creamy, peachy sticks of goodness are just what you need for a day in the sun.
  • A DIY Popsicle list wouldn’t be complete without a classic chocolate Popsicle recipe.  Give these Chocolate Sundae Popsicles a try – So. Much. Chocolate!

A DIY Popsicle isn’t complete without something to make it in.  Check out our favorite molds:

  • Zipzicle makes convenient otter pop-style ziploc baggies – so easy!
  • Zoku has a product called the “quick pop maker”; it freezes Popsicles in seven minutes!  They also have a collection of super cute molds, like spaceships and dinosaurs!
  • These push-pop Popsicle molds are hassle-free and won’t make a huge mess.
  • These Popsicle molds with sipper straws make it easy to catch every last drip of deliciousness.
