Parla It might be strange to put an Italian restaurant first on the list to celebrate St.Paddy’s Day, but this eatery has a refreshingly Americana feel to it, merging different cultures in a true Bostonian way. And the eclectic bar is certainly worth having a drink to celebrate Boston’s most famous holiday, with cocktails like a Bootleg Old Fashion, a Dillinger Sidecar, and the most ominous drink name we’ve ever heard, Death in the Afternoon, made with absinthe. Drink at your own risk! Located in the historic North End.

The Beehive Celebrate St.Paddy’s day bohemian style at this extremely colorful and multi cultural eatery and bar with specialty drinks such as a Carrot Margarita, Bitter Truth, and keeping with the gleefully sinister cocktail theme so far, Blood & Whiskey. This beatnik inspired spot is known for its live music and has been named one of the “Top 100 Jazz Clubs in the World” by Downbeat Magazine. Nightly music, menacing cocktails and a delightful smorgasbord of food make this an ideal spot for a lively celebration. Located in the South End.

Beat Brasserie is the sister restaurant of The Beehive. Yup, the group of nonconformist inspired beatniks have another spot worthy of celebrating at in Harvard Square. Reservations are recommended for this popular joint! Nightly music, cover free by the way, is in common with The Beehive. A diverse menu is also in common serving everything from Veggie Gratitude Bowls (you can add your choice of meat if you wish) to a raw oyster bar to Lux Nachos with Slow Roasted Pork. And you want cocktails?  They’ve got cocktails; the Lion’s Roar, Friend of the Devil Margarita and a Smokey the Bear concoction that sounds perfect for St. Paddy’s Day.

Alden & Harlow  People need to eat too on St.Paddy’s Day, right? We thought so. One look at the photography on their website will make you wish for the real thing. We’re salivating over potential “snacks” like Savory Monkey Bread with garlic, parsley, and Bianco Sardo, and Duck and Pork with Campagna, roasted dates, and smoked almond butter at eight bucks a pop. And it wouldn’t be a true Bostonian holiday celebration without a carefully designed cocktail such as their That’ll Do with smoke pork infused scotch, Green Mountain Maple Liquor, Dolin Rouge and absinthe…famous last words.

Night Shift Brewery  We know some of you may be reading this and thinking, where’s the beer? Well, we haven’t forgotten about you. While it may seem as though cocktails have taken the spotlight in this post, there’s plenty of beer to be drank at all the locations we’ve mentioned so far…but if you’re looking for an array of locally brewed beers, you may want to visit the Night Shift Brewery tap room. They’ve got everything from double IPAs to a Belgian Brett Tripel to an American Porter plus many, many more.  Located just four miles from the heart of Boston in Everett, MA.
