Now that we have a little slice of freedom at our fingertips, we can consider making some bigger 4th of July plans! If you’re stumped for ideas on how to branch out at your apartment community or where to venture out to celebrate, we’ve compiled a list of 4th of July activities and menu items to help you get the ball rolling. The Classic BBQ

The smell of burgers grilling, the laughter of kids running around in their swimsuits, and the sight of adults lounging in deck chairs with a drink in hand… it’s the perfect way to spend the day while awaiting the boom of fireworks at nightfall. Keep reading for a few of our favorite BBQ recipes!

Patriotic Dinner Party

Many of our new apartment communities have outdoor lounge areas that are perfect for dinner parties. Elevate the traditional BBQ with a patriotic themed dinner party, including cocktails, mocktails, desserts, and party décor that all follow your red, white, and blue theme.

Outdoor Movie Screenings

Summer is the season for outdoor movie screenings—and no, you don’t have to screen 1996’s Independence Day! Create one in your backyard or ask your property manager if it’s okay to set one up in the outdoor community area. Choose movies that everyone will love; it’s a great way to bring neighbors together and is the perfect kid-friendly activity.

Family Picnic

If you prefer to avoid the responsibility of hosting 4th of July activities, why not do a low-key picnic with just the family? Head to the park or beach with a blanket, cooler, and plenty of food. These are popular locations on Independence Day, so head out early to reserve your spot!

City Parade 

Kids love parades, and most towns and cities have some sort of patriotic parade that takes place on July 4th. This is a fun activity to get involved with your community that creates happy memories. Be sure to arrive early and bring your lawn chairs!

4th of July Fireworks

There’s no shortage of fireworks this 4th of July! Making arrangements to watch a firework show should be the least of your concerns because they will be happening everywhere. This is a great way to end a long day of fun and will be sure to leave you feeling patriotic.
